Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Tyler graduated from the Department of Geography at McGill University with an Honours B.A. in Urban Systems in 2009. His honours research focused on access on the island of Montreal to the downtown core by public transportation in relation to median household income. Currently, he is completing a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering under the supervision of Luis Miranda-Moreno also at McGill University. His research interests include public transportation access and safety for non-motorized transportation.
